This year, Yuri Kissaten embarks on the 5 for ’25 Campaign. Support our journey on Patreon!
When we founded this studio last year, we didn’t set out to go beyond a side hobby. We wanted to make some lesbian indie games and enjoy working together, but we didn’t expect anything more. We certainly didn’t expect to have a blast making games, and to see a real path forward into making a career.
That was then, and this is now, the Year of Yuri in 2025.
After Love is in the Airship was so well-received, after our game jam Winter Heat came together so nicely, we have decided to shoot our shot the best we can and make a genuine, no-holding-back, full-on attempt at turning Yuri Kissaten into a full-fledged game studio. We want to work on Yuri Kissaten as our main jobs by 2026.
The only way to do that, of course, is to release more games, and to get these games more and more attention.
So for this year, we will begin the 5 for ’25 Campaign.
We’re going to develop five full games in 2025. Five lesbian-focused visual novels, adventure games, and other narrative experiences for the world to enjoy, and to hopefully get Yuri Kissaten on the map.
As of March 1st, we’ve announced one game–The full version of Winter Heat, coming this fall. The others will be announced over the course of the year.
- 1. Winter Heat
- 2. ???
- 3. ???
- 4. ???
- 5. ???
We’re not planning on releasing all five of these games in 2025, but at least finishing them.
This is going to be an incredibly difficult challenge. We’re an indie studio with no budget, with financial struggles, and a small team. We’re brimming with ambition, but can we really pull it off?
With your help, I think we can.
The 5 for ’25 Campaign will be centered around our Patreon page. We’ll be announcing new games, new features, new events, new teasers every couple of weeks, but we’ll also sum it all up with monthly update posts. Those will be free.
And then, for people paying for the patron tiers, we’ll give special bonus updates that go into much, much more detail on the process, at least once a month. You’ll get extremely candid content on topics like:
- Game design decisions
- Story worldbuilding
- Character design
- Marketing ideas
- Setting up a Japanese company
- Staying efficient with a very limited budget
- Pitching to publishers
- Crowdfunding?
- Scrapping content
- Time zone coordination struggles
…And more!
We’re going to rush headlong into game development right in a very tough time for the whole industry. Please support us by reading, sharing, joining, and most of all, playing. Be with us for our ups and downs and see the rise of Yuri Kissaten.
We’ll be here, and also there, and also there, as well as many other places. But most importantly, please support the 5 for ’25 Campaign on Patreon!
